Baseball Holds Steady at No. 6 in Latest NAIA National Rankings

Baseball Holds Steady at No. 6 in Latest NAIA National Rankings

Kansas City, Mo. - The Central Methodist Baseball program remained at No. 6 in the second edition of the NAIA Baseball Coaches Top 25 poll, which was announced by the national office Wednesday.

MidAmerica Nazarene is the only other Heart program featured in the Top 25, as the Pioneers jump nine spots to No. 15.

Central has raced out to a 25-4 overall record and an 11-1 mark in the Heart of America Athletic Conference.

The Eagles are set to host No. 15 MidAmerica Nazarene for a key conference series beginning Friday, March 29 at 1:00 p.m. at Estes Field. MNU is currently 22-7 and 15-1 in the Heart of America.

To view the poll methodology and the complete Top 25 poll, please see below.

Rating Methodology

  • The rating was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences.
  • The Top 25 is determined by a points system based on how each rater ranks the best teams. A team receives 30 points for each first-place vote, 29 for second-place and so on through the list.
  • The highest and lowest ranking for each team (a non-rating is considered a low rating) is removed and the team's ranking will be recalculated with an additional point added to each team for every ballot (including discounted ballots) that the teams appear on.
  • Teams that receive only one point on the ballot are not considered "receiving votes"
