Kansas City, Mo. - For the second time this season, Central Methodist junior pitcher Clayton Burke was named the Heart of America Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
The native of Portland, Oregon also earned the honor back on March 4.
Burke was masterful on the bump in game two against Mount Mercy. He pitched a complete game shut out against the Mustangs, allowing just three hits and a walk.
In addition, Burke set a career-high with 10 strikeouts en route to his sixth win of the year. So far this season, he has pitched 43.1 innings and boasts a 1.87 earned run average with 48 strikeouts.
Burke and the Eagles are currently 25-4 and 11-1 in the Heart of America. They will next host No. 24 MidAmerica Nazarene University Friday, March 29 for a four-game weekend series beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Estes Field.
