Kansas City, Mo. - For the first time in his career, Central Methodist senior outfielder Bobby Nichols was named the Heart Baseball Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
The native of Detroit, Michigan led the Eagles to a 3-1 record this past weekend. He hit .727 with eight hits in 11 at-bats including one home run. In addition, he scored seven runs and swiped four stolen bases.
Nichols currently has 97 career stolen bases through just two and a half seasons in an Eagle uniform. He is 15 shy of breaking the program record of 111 set back in 1991.
Nichols and the Eagles will remain at home to host the Midwest Madness Tournament beginning Thursday, Feb. 22 at Estes Field.
