Kansas City, Mo. - After a stellar showing at the Cajun Collision this past weekend, Central Methodist junior outfielder Carlos Negron was named the Heart Baseball Player of the Week by the conference office Monday.
The native of Corozal, Puerto Rico led the Eagles to a 3-1 record at the Collision, including a 7-6 victory over (RV) Oregon Tech Thursday. Against the Owls, Negron hit the go-ahead three-run home run to right center field.
Altogether, he batted .545 with six hits, including three home runs and two doubles. He also knocked in eight runs and stole four bases on the weekend.
