
Canton, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Cross Country team took first place at the Great River Open Friday evening.
The event was hosted by fellow Heart institution Culver-Stockton College at the Riverview Golf Club in Canton, Missouri.
Freshman Tara Ozinga was Central's highest finisher, as she place second in the 4K with a time of 14:58.64. Newcomer Morgan Waltmire finished third in 15:42.58, followed by Ella Strehlow (4th - 15:50.90), Molly Milazzo (5th - 16:16.34), and Ali Gutierrez (6th - 16:26.23).
Sadie Burchett, Madison Horn, Ava Wilson, and Chloe Ross also ran for Central.
As a team, CMU finished with 20 total points to place first. Culver-Stockton placed second with 41 points.
Central will next run at the Larry Young Invitational Friday, Sept. 20 in Columbia, Mo.
