
Holts Summit, Mo. - The Central Methodist Women's Golf program posted a second-place standing at the Railwood Open earlier this week.
The two-day tournament, hosted by William Woods University, took place at Railwood Golf Course in Holts Summit, Missouri. The field featured 43 total golfers representing nine different institutions.
Central shot a two-round total of 672 to finish second, four strokes better than the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy of St. Louis, who finished third. Lincoln University out of Jefferson City, Missouri, won the team title with a two-round score of 597.
It marks CMU's third top-two tournament finish this fall.
Freshman Kyambria Acy was Central's highest individual finisher, shooting identical round scores of 78 for a total of 156. Junior Mechelle Vermillion also landed in the Top 10 with a score of 164.
Fellow junior Karington Harrell wasn't too far off from the Top 10, finishing 12th with a score of 167.
Reagan Bell (14th - 169), Tanier Massey (18th - 176), Kali Brown (19th - 177), and Lauren Williams (21st - 178) also competed for the Eagles.
Central will compete in their final tournament of the fall at the Columbia Cougar Invitational beginning Monday, Oct. 28 at the Columbia Country Club in Columbia, Mo.
