Fayette, Mo. - The Central Methodist STUNT team participated in its first-ever home tournament this weekend inside Puckett Field House.
The Eagles hosted two other programs, including Southwest Baptist from Bolivar, Missouri and Buena Vista from Storm Lake, Iowa. In addition, Central honored its 2023-24 senior class prior to competition which included; Abigail Rosa, Jasmine Stewart, Kathleen Wheeler, and Alyssa Waterman
This weekend's STUNT games featured four quarters of competition, consisting of rounds in which teams perform pre choreographed routines head-to-head on the competition floor.
Quarter one featured partner STUNTS, quarter two pyramids and tosses, quarter three jumps and tumbling, and fourth quarter a team routine.
CMU faced both Southwest Baptist and Buena Vista in each day of competition. Central began the tournament with a 13-0 win over SBU followed by a 14-0 shut out of BVU Saturday.
The Eagles continued their success heading into Sunday, as they once again shut out both Southwest Baptist and Buena Vista by scores of 14-0 and 13-0 to close the the tournament.
CMU finished the weekend with a perfect 4-0 record and improved their overall season record to 4-2.
Central will next compete in the Missouri Baptist Tournament the weekend of March 22-23 in St. Louis, Missouri.
