
Marshall, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's Golf team brought home plenty of hardware at the 2024 MVC Fall Invite on Monday and Tuesday in Marshall, Missouri.
The tournament, which was held at Indian Foot Hills Country Club, featured four schools including; CMU, Missouri Valley, William Woods, and Baptist Bible.
As a team, Central took first place with a three-round score of 860. Missouri Valley placed second with a score of 866, followed by William Woods with a score of 874.
Sophomore Cole Wiese tied for first and would ultimately finish as runner-up after a thrilling six-hole playoff against eventual individual champion Chad Coburn. He concluded the tournament with a total score of 213, including a low round of 69.
Carter Martin placed third with a final score of 215. Both Wiese and Martin earned All-Tournament team honors for their finishes at the invite.
Cylas Worley (218) and Carter Jackson (218) both landed in the Top 10 with seventh-place finishes. Garrett Rikel (16th - 222), Kyle Fitzpatrick (39th - 236), Keenan James (43rd - 240), Brock Jenkins (47th - 243), Jackson Hackett (53rd - 250), John Howle (57th - 269), and Travis Allen (60th - 299) also competed for the Eagles.
Central will next compete in the William Woods Fall Invitational beginning Monday, Sept. 16 at Tanglewood Golf Course in Fulton, Missouri.
