Anthony's Career-High Propels Central Past Missouri Valley

Fayette, Mo. - Behind a career-high 30 points from super senior guard Marcus Anthony, the Central Methodist Men's Basketball team took care of business against Missouri Valley College Tuesday night inside Puckett Field House.

Central defeated the Vikings by a final score of 92-82, improving their record to 6-3 and 3-2 in the Heart of America. The Vikings fall to 2-6 and 1-4 in conference play.

Anthony had the best game of his career, as the native of Jefferson City, Missouri scored 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor and a perfect eight-for-eight from the charitry stripe. He also knocked down two three-point baskets.

Reigning Heart Player of the Week Destin Jenkins followed with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block. Senior forward Bol Tong added 16 points and five rebounds. Nine of Tong's 16 points came from the three point line.

Brandon Tchouya rounded out Central's double digit scorers with 13 points while also grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds to secure a double-double.

Central was lethal from all areas of the floor, shooting 49 percent from the field, 33.3 percent from three, and 83.3 percent from the charity stripe. The Eagles made a total of 42 trips to the free throw line, compared to 31 for the Vikings.

CMU held a slight advantage on the glass, as they ourebounded MVC 37-33.

The Eagles remain at home to host first place Baker University Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. inside Puckett Field House.
