Eagles Compete in Heart Rocket League Tournament; Molnar Named Heart Coach of the Year, Richmann First Team All-Conference

Parkville, Mo. - The Central Methodist ESports team competed in the second annual Heart Rocket League Conference Tournament on Saturday.

The double elimination tournament was held on the campus of Park University and featured the following teams and seeding; No. 1 Missouri Valley, No. 2 Saint Ambrose, No. 3 Graceland, and No. 4 CMU.

Central began the tournament with a 4-2 loss in game one to Missouri Valley College, before bouncing back with a 4-0 shutout win over Graceland to stay alive.

The Eagles concluded their tournament run with a 4-1 loss to Saint Ambrose.

In addition to the conference tournament, the Heart also announced the 2025 Heart Rocket League All-Conference selections and postseason award winners.

CMU Head Coach Tyler Molnar was named the 2025 ESports Coach of the Year while freshman Daniel Richmann earned Heart First Team All-Conference honors.

Coach Molnar, who serves as the Vice Chair for the Heart Esports Coaches, led CMU to a pair of conference tournament qualifications in both League of Legends and Rocket League.

Richmann earns All-Conference honors for the first time in his young career. The native from St. Louis, Missouri entered the tournament as the reigning Heart Rocket League Player of the Week during the final week of the regular season.

Both award winners are the first for CMU in program history.
