Cedar Rapids, Iowa - The Central Methodist Softball team dropped fell in its third game of the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Saturday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Central fell to the Benedictine Ravens by a score of 4-1. The loss moves the Eagles into the elimination side of the tournament bracket.
BC jumped out in front with an RBI single to left field in the bottom of the second inning. Central would tie the game after Joely Crider drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom half of the third inning.
However, Central left the bases loaded as they were unable to bring anymore runs across before the third out was recorded.
Benedictine plated its second run in the fourth and two in the fifth to extend its lead to 4-1. The Eagles were unable to counter in the final three innings, as BC would go on to win the semifinal matchup.
Madison White finished the day batting two for three with a double. Kelena Oots, Kaysie Jolley, Elizabeth Palumbo, and Daly Garland all picked up hits as well.
Jordyn Ball tossed five complete innings in the circle, while Haile Farris came in relief for the final two innings of work.
CMU will face the winner of Missouri Valley/Grand View in an elimination game Sunday, May 5 at 12:00 p.m. The winner will advance to the Heart Championship.
