Fayette, Mo. - The No. 3 Central Methodist Softball team picked up a weekday victory over Stephens College by a final score of 9-0 Wednesday afternoon at Cox Softball Complex.
Central improves its overall record to 19-3, while the Stars drop to 7-17.
The Eagles plated nine runs on 11 hits which included three Stars' errors. Kelena Oots and Kaysie Jolley each picked up a pair of hits, including a triple for Oots.
Joely Crider also tripled while both Makayla Albert and Isabella Proctor doubled.
Crider and Madison Roberts led the Eagle bats, driving in two runners apiece.
Central's pitching staff of Jordyn Ball, Haley Cotter, and Hailee Farris combined for a one-hit shut out. Ball tossed the first two innings, striking out five total batters. Cotter threw the third and the fourth innings, while Farris closed the game out in the fifth.
Ball earned the win in the circle, picking up her 10th victory of 2024.
CMU begins conference action with a doubleheader against Mount Mercy Friday, March 22 starting at 2:00 p.m. at Cox Softball Complex.
