Eagles Compete in Lions Match Play Classic in St. Charles

St. Charles, Mo. - The Central Methodist Men's and Women's Bowling programs took part in the Lions Match Play Classic Tournament this past weekend in St. Charles, Mo. 

It marked the first-ever tournament for the women's side, while the men have now competed in three tournaments so far this fall. 

Overall, the CMU men finished fifth out of six teams. Following Saturday's three team games, the men sat in fifth, and after 20 Baker team games, CMU was seeded sixth to begin bracket play. 

Central would fall to No. 3 seeded Missouri Baptist 2-1 to complete their tournament run. 

From an individual standpoint, senior Eric Moore was the highest finisher for the Eagles, placing 23rd with a three game total of 579.

Cole Johnson and Colton Carrier each landed in the Top 30 with scores of 552 and 533 respectively. Takudswa Mukonzamariro and Dustin Linneman also bowled for the Eagles. 

The CMU women, who were shorthanded during the tournament, finished third out of three teams. Maya ElliottLauren Williams, and Janell Whitfield all saw their first action in an Eagle uniform for Central. 

The Eagles will next compete in the Bobcat Baker Brawl Tournament beginning Saturday, Nov. 11 in Nebraska City, Neb.
