CMU Men's Bowling Opens Season at Mid Iowa Bowling Tournament

Cedar Rapids, Iowa - The Central Methodist Men's Bowling team began their season at the Mid Iowa Bowling Tournament this past weekend in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

The tournament featured 10 different programs from Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri. 

Cole Johnson was the highest finisher for the Eagles, knocking down 979 total pins for an average score of 195.8. The junior finished just outside the Top 20 in 21st place. 

Senior Ryan Wilburn placed 40th after bowling five complete games for an average score of 172.4 

As a team, Central placed 10th with a score of 6496. Iowa Western Community College won the event with a score of 8406. The University of Nebraska (8335) and Waldorf (8004) placed second and third respectively at the tournament. 

The Eagles will next compete in the Mid-State Championship beginning Saturday, Oct. 21 in Wichita, Kan.
