Christian Knighton

Christian Knighton

Christian Knighton was named the Assistant Director of Game Operations & Facilities in June 2025. He previously served as a graduate assistant in the department for two years.

In this role, Knighton assists the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Game Operations and Events in all areas of gameday operations for both varsity and varsity reserve programs.

He will also serve in a dual role as Assistant Women's Wrestling Coach for CMU. 

Christian is a 2023 graduate of Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations and Advertising. In addition, he was named to the Dean's List four times. 

While at Avila, Knighton also wrestled under current CMU Head Coach Graham Karwath for two years. Off the mat, he completed an internship in the sports information department, gaining experience as a broadcaster, announcer, and camera operator. 

Before Avila, Christian completed his associate's degree in Sports Management from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M in 2021.

He is a native of McKinney, Texas, and completed his master's degree in education with an emphasis in athletic administration in the Spring of 2025.
