The Central Methodist Department of Athletics announced the hiring of Taylor Saie (Pronounced "Say") as CMU's strength and conditioning coach in May, 2026.
"We're excited to welcome Taylor to the Eagle Family as the leader of our Strength and Conditioning program," stated Director of Athletics Jeff Sherman. "From the beginning of the hiring process, his experience, energy, and proven success made him a phenomenal fit for our athletic department. We can't wait for him to bring that same passion, expertise, and culture to our Eagle athletic programs."
Prior to joining the Eagles, Saie served as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at NCAA Division II Quincy University for two years, following a brief stint at HBCU, West Virginia State University.
A native of South Lyon, Michigan, Saie earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in exercise science from Western Michigan University. During his time at WMU, he spent two years as an assistant with the football program before working for one year in Olympic sports. Throughout his development, he was mentored by Tim Herrmann, Grant Geib, Kyle Murray, and Bob Vezeau.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Saie brings more than five years of private-sector coaching experience from Next Level Performance in Schoolcraft, Michigan, where he worked with athletes of all ages across multiple sports. He also brings a strong work ethic shaped by more than a decade of blue-collar experience moving furniture for Two Men and a Truck, helping fund his education out of pocket.
"Being part of one of the most competitive NAIA institutions and athletic conferences in the country is an incredible opportunity," said Saie. "The athletic department is committed to excellence and to supporting the success of its coaches and student-athletes."
"I'm excited to help raise the ceiling of CMU Athletics, build on its proud traditions, and develop strong relationships that create the best possible experience for our student-athletes."
