Located on the east edge of campus, Estes Baseball Field was built in 1968 and was named in honor of Wellborn Estes (Class of 1918), who was a member of the Board of Curators, a Central athlete, and a consistent contributor to Eagle Athletics. The field’s grandstand was donated by William “Bill” Hairston (’33) and was completed in the 90s.
Estes Field went under a major renovation in the summer of 2022. The multi-million dollar project features include; a new turf field, backstops, netting, and bullpens, in addition to a Champion outfield wall, new side fencing and electric.
Nearby is the Radtke Observation Deck, which allows spectators to watch baseball and softball from a unique view.
