Davis Field and Hairston Track are the homes for CMU’s football, soccer, and outdoor track and field athletes. Davis Field, which received new turf in 2016, has been on campus since 1911, and is named after Arthur F. Davis. It is encircled by the Hairston Track, which was built in 1985 and is named after William “Bill” L. Hairston. The track and field areas were renovated in 2007, with the widening of the resurfaced track to eight lanes, and the construction of a concession stand area.
The nearby Outdoor Athletic Facility, located just south of the field, houses locker rooms for football and soccer, as well as an athletic training area and turf, and a coaches' meeting room. It opened in the fall of 2004.
