Five Eagles Punch Tickets to Nationals at John Jacobs Invitational

Norman, Okla. - The Central Methodist Track and Field program took a group of athletes to the John Jacobs Invitational, hosted by the University of Oklahoma last weekend in Norman, Oklahoma. 

Dayana Montenegro competed in both the 400 and 800, as the senior finished seventh in the 400 in a time of 56.63. She posted a 13th place standing in the 800 in 2:16.55

Additionally, Montenegro's time in the 400m met the 'A' standard for national championship qualification in May. 

Fellow senior Kailey Johnson placed fifth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.83 seconds. She and teammate Yanira Paninka also competed in the 400m hurdles, with Paninka clocking an 'A' standard time of 1:03.60. 

Renee Finke continues to impress in her junior campaign, as she tallied 4987 points in the heptathlon to place second. Her point total set a new PR and school record. She also broke the program record and hit the 'A' standard in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.72 meters. 

Finally, Finke met the 'A' standard in the 100mH in 14.30 seconds. 

Haley Bellamy finished the heptathlon with 4255 points for a seventh place standing. Her point total is currently seventh best in the country. 

Chris Adekoya posted a time of 10.35 seconds in the 100m dash, while Leroy Williams finished third in the 110m hurdles in 14.33 seconds. For Williams, his time is fifth best in the NAIA. 

Hunter Mont Cary won the decathlon with 6440 total points. His new PR was good enough to secure his spot at nationals and he now leads the NAIA in the 10-event competition.
