
Cleveland, Ohio - The Central Methodist Department of Athletics finished the 2024-25 year ranked No. 24 in the final edition of the NAIA Learfield Directors' Cup Standings.
CMU also finished fourth in the Heart of America Commissioner's Cup Standings.
Central totaled 487.75 points in 2024-25, including 75 points in the fall, 218.75 in the winter, and 194 points in the spring.
The only other Heart schools ahead of Central in the standings are Grand View (13th, 673.50) and Benedictine (23rd, 490.50).
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 13 sports, four of which must be men's basketball, men's soccer, women's basketball, and women's volleyball. The next nine sports for each institution, regardless of gender, will be used in the standings.
There were 184 NAIA programs ranked after the 2024-25 athletic year.
Scoring points for the Eagles included: softball (73), women's indoor track & field (69), men's wrestling (67.5), men's indoor track & Field (62.25), women's outdoor track & field (50.5), women's soccer (50), men's outdoor track and field (45.5), volleyball (25), baseball (25), and women's wrestling (20).
